What we did

In partnership with Groundswell Experiential, who masterfully orchestrated this innovative event concept, RPM Creative delivered the comprehensive creative strategy for Red Bull's Battle of The Captains, transforming Chicago's waterfront into an unforgettable branded experience. Thanks to Groundswell's trust in our creative capabilities, we developed everything from the ground up: a distinctive visual identity system, engaging video animations for social media and event displays, custom apparel for staff and contestants, and immersive environmental designs that turned the Chicago River into a branded playground.

The competition united 60 of Chicago's premier nightlife venues, narrowing to 20 finalists before selecting six legendary establishments: Deuce's Major League Bar, Whispers, Joy District, D.S. Tequila Company, and PB&J: Pizza Beer and Jukebox. Each finalist's boat featured custom-designed wraps and branded elements, while crew members sported specially designed apparel that captured the event's dynamic spirit.
